Nurturing a love of books and reading, reading aloud, growing libraries, being a model of literacy, building community, the role of anchor charts, book choices, realistic independent reading, and solving predictable problems, such as the disengaged reader, monitoring meaning, readers who get “stuck,” will all be topics in this course, as we bring together ENL teachers and P-3 classroom teachers. The early childhood classroom is a ripe atmosphere for co-teaching, so let's explore the roles of both these important teachers in this classroom environment.
